the tensile strength of rubber as well as its bond strength to the steel end plates - this might be ok for grandma's Buick, but neither does the job very well in a performance application. By design, my mounts are always compressing the bushing material, regardless of if the mount is placed in tension or compression. The bushings only serve to dampen vibration while the stress of containing engine movement is handled by high-strength fasteners and hardware.
